I heard about Facebook phone sometime back but the news soon fizzled out. Well, it is back in the scene and this time the speculation is that the phone will be made by HTC. And if industry sources quoted in the report are to be believed, it is coming as soon as the third quarter of this year. 
While Google is now working closely with Samsung to bring out the Nexus range, seems like HTC has decided to move on its own path. The smartphone manufacturer is reportedly working on a customised device in cooperation with Facebook. After becoming a public company, the decision to launch its own-brand smartphone is just a part of its development strategy.
According to a Digitimes report, the new Android smartphone being developed by HTC will have a platform exclusive to Facebook to enable and integrate all functions available on the social networking site, the sources indicated. HTC had previously launched two Facebook-enabled smartphones, the Salsa and Chacha.
