Dell Intros First Windows 8 Tablet

Surprisingly Surprising! The world was expecting Nokia to launch a Windows 8 tablet but a surprising package comes from Dell. The renowned PC maker has introduced Dell Latitude 10, the first Windows 8 tablet as per the reports of Neowin. The 25.4-cm (10-inch) tablet comes with HD capacitive multi-touch screen supporting 1366 x 768 resolution. It is powered by Intel Clover Trail Atom Dual Core processor, offers 2GB RAM and a graphics chipset from Intel.

The tablet weighs 710 grams and measures 10 x 7 x 0.4-inches, landing itself in a different league than that of slim and sleek tablets. It also carries 128 SSD, 8MP camera, 2MP front camera, fingerprint reader, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth connectivity, integrated speakers, a microUSB charging port and stereo headphone/microphone combo jack. The welcome change for the Windows 8 tablet is the camera specifications which are given least importance.
Also, Windows 8 RT would not get connected to the Windows network domain. The PCWorld claims that the specifications of the tablet are weak and unattractive. It is based on Intel x86 and not the popular ARM design. Though the RAM storage is higher than the existing tablets but that doesn't over-rates the Windows 8 tablet. The website further says that instead of buying this tablet, people would rather buy those entry-level laptops offering same specifications at just $300. The only way Windows 8 tablet can gain momentum is pricing it cheaper than the iPad and Android tablets.
If the tablet comes out with the same specifications, it may face adverse reactions but one thing which is sure is that it couldn't buzz the world like Galaxy Note did.
