Skype V1.0 For Windows Phone

Microsoft has finally released the official Skype app for Windows Phone on the Windows marketplace. It enables users to download the app directly from their Windows Phone device. Almost 200 million people use Skype every month across screens, such as smartphones, tablets, laptops, etc. Using the Skype app for Windows Phone, users can engage in voice calls, video calls and texting with their contacts.

Skype for Windows Phones is available for use on 4G, 3G and Wi-Fi networks. It enables users to connect with family and friends any time with free voice and video calls though the data connection, which will be chargeable. It also allows to make reasonable calls to landlines and mobiles using Skype Credit.
Since the release of its initial beta app in February, the company has received an excellent response from the users, which has allowed them in the augmentation of the app. Furthermore, the company has also added different features including video calling in portrait mode and friend management capabilities including invite, accept invitations, block, and unblock contacts.
On the negative side of things, Skype for Windows Phone, the app cannot run in the background which basically means that it cannot run silently in the background so that one could receive calls.
According to Skype' official blog, this is the first of many releases to come for Windows Phone and they will continue to invest over time to enable experiences unmatched by any other app in the market.
Skype for Windows Phone is available in 18 languages and is available for free.
