The Box Eye leg-up! Here you go Linux users. You will be happy to hear that Skype is back with an updated version only to ameliorate your audio and video call experience. “Four Rooms for Improvement” as it says is now available after a long wait. Skype 4.0 brings in a new Conversations View, improved audio call quality, enhanced video experience, improved chat synchronisation and it supports a wide range of webcams too.

The update comes with a handful of enhanced features, which would provide you a more easy and convenient Skype experience. The new Conversations View brings all chats into a single, unified window. Besides this, a new call view, redesigned presence and emoticons and ability to store and view numbers with each Skype profile has also been made available.
With the support for a wide range of webcams, Skype 4.0 will induce life in your webcams, which were not working on the previous version. Also, your calls and chats will be smoother, without any crashes or freezes.
If you have a system with 1GHz processor, 256MB RAM, and 100MB of hard drive space, you are in for the Skype 4.0 download. The update might appear slow initially, but after a while, there would be nothing like it.
