Micromax Unveils Android 4.0 Funbook Tablet In India

Following the recent launch of Android 4.0 tablets from HCL, we now have the Funbook from Micromax which runs Google's Android 4.0 aka Ice Cream Sandwich and costs Rs 6,499.
Micromax today entered into the tablet market with the launch of Funbook in India. The tablet has been labelled as an edutainment device. The company is targeting the youth with its new tab. Featuring a 17.8-cm (7-inch) capacitive display, the Micromax Funbook packs in a 1.2GHz Cortex A8 processor with a Mali GPU. The device offers a 4GB internal memory, which can be expanded up to 32 GB.

It also includes 512MB of RAM and packs in 2800 mAh battery. Besides this, the Funbook tablet sports 3G dongle support via a USB and features 0.3 megapixel VGA front facing camera.
The tablet will be available at 1,00,000 retail outlets across 50 cities in India. The company is also offering a Tata Photon Plus bundled with additional 1GB data for the first two months.
Micromax has also tied up with Pearson and Everonn for providing educational content for the students. It has partnered with firms like BigFlix and Indiagames for entertainment and gaming content.
