The much awaited Google Drive would be launched next week. According to a news leak, Google will launch Google Drive on Android, iOS, Mac, and PC, and the service will come with a free 5GB of storage, as previously reported.
Reportedly, Google Drive is an in-app Documents editor making it look like an extension of Google Docs. Though this can possibly be handy but it is difficult to imagine its usefulness as Google Docs is easily accessible via all platforms.
Google Drive is expected to launch in the middle of next week. Since Google Drive’s main competition include DropBox and Box.net that offer methods for users to earn free space by completing certain tasks. As expected, Google would likely offer free additional storage as well.
Google will offer a multitude of pricing tiers for those who require more than the allocated 5 GB, a practice which is status quo for the cloud storage industry. According to the assumptions, the price points will be at par or slightly below the competition.
